Brexit – will I have problems with my shipment to the UK?

The United Kingdom left the European Union on 31 January 2020 and is now officially a third country to the EU.

What all stakeholders should bear in mind

The UK’s exit on January 1, 2021, also had an impact on logistics flows. However, the measures that companies and shippers take have not changed since then and are still valid now.

  • Customs clearance processes for shipments between the EU and the UK are likely to lead to higher operating costs for logistics operators. Some of them already mentioned that they will (in different ways) pass over the costs to the shippers.
