54th LIHH Expert Group Meeting on Risk and Law met at LetMeShip

After an expert presentation on the topic of the “Supply Chain Due Diligence Act”, the participants discussed the law, its implementation and legal as well as practical questions and difficulties.

LetMeShip is a long-standing member of the Logistics Initiative Hamburg (LIHH). With more than 500 member companies and institutions from the Hamburg metropolitan region and beyond, the public-private partnership is the industry’s largest location network in Europe. The network is made up of logistics service providers, industry & trade, research & development, start-ups, numerous public institutions and industry-related companies.

Among other things, LIHH has set up a series of expert groups that take up current topics from the transport and logistics industry and related areas, evaluate them, develop them further and transfer them to the industry/practice.

The 54th LIHH Expert Group Meeting on Risk and Law took place on 7 July – an event for which the ITA Consulting Group GmbH was happy to make its offices available. Meike Schmidt, Director Legal & Risk at Röhlig Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG, gave an expert presentation on the topic of the “Supply Chain Due Diligence Act”. Afterwards, the participants discussed the law, its interpretation, its implementation and the associated difficulties. The discussion covered legal topics as well as experiences and problems in everyday practice.

The law aims to ensure that medium-sized and large companies increase transparency in their business relationships in order to create the basis for fair, safe and appropriately paid working conditions, environmental protection and sustainable use of resources. A goal with which LetMeShip and the participants identify in order to steer logistics together towards a sustainable and fair future.
