DER KURIER was founded in 1979 as an urban dispatch centre for courier services modelled on the London and New York bicycle couriers. With the founding of OverNight Service GmbH based in Hamburg, DER KURIER now offers independent nationwide overnight transport. After establishing a strategic alliance with parcel service German Parcel, now operating as GLS Germany, GLS became the sole shareholder of the DER KURIER Group in 1999 and the company changed its name to DER KURIER GmbH & Co. KG.
DER KURIER stands for a dense, nationwide courier and express network in Germany with around 250 independent stations. Thanks to its strong regional partners, DER KURIER is always close by.
Outside of Germany, DER KURIER has numerous established partners in their markets.
