How does the LetMeShip guarantee work?


The LetMeShip Guarantee: Your safety net for every parcel, pallet or document

  • Transparent price: Always 1% of the goods value.
  • Covers goods values up to €100,000: Most transport insurance only offers coverage up to €50,000.
  • Guarantee for documents up to €500: Most transport insurance does not offer any coverage for documents. In the event of loss, the costs of replacement are reimbursed.

Almost every case in which a package, pallet or document is lost or significantly damaged is covered by the LetMeShip guarantee. Provided that the causes are not beyond the control of the shipping service provider (such as weather conditions or war).

FAQ LetMeShip guarantee

For you as a customer, the guarantee offers financial security in the event of a shipment being lost or damaged. The LetMeShip guarantee covers the value of parcels, pallets and the replacement value of documents.
The advantage of a guarantee booked directly through LetMeShip compared to booking transport insurance through the carriers is that we offer a guarantee for a goods value of up to €100,000. Transport insurance companies usually only offer insurance of up to €50,000. In addition, documents can be insured up to €500, which is not possible at all with most transport insurance companies.

All parcels, pallets and documents for all carriers and services [+ domain-specific text like “except TNT”] that can be booked directly through LetMeShip. Special services like courier services or direct delivery cannot be covered by LetMeShip Guarantee, but can be covered by transport insurance through the carriers (with the assistance of our Customer Service).

These contents are specifically excluded from the LetMeShip Guarantee:

  • Food or perishable items
  • Medication requiring controlled temperature (positive or negative)
  • Cigarettes, tobacco and tobacco products
  • Liquids, wines and spirits
  • Products that have already been broken, damaged or fragilised
  • Chemical, toxic or hazardous products
  • Moldy, polluted or contaminated objects or goods
  • Firearms, ammunitions, explosives, fuels and fireworks
  • Radioactive or dangerous materials
  • Liquid fuels such as LPG, FOD, heavy fuel oil and similar products
  • Combustible gases, flammable liquids
  • Illegal substances defined by the legislations of the pick-up or drop-off country
  • Living beings, animals, plants
  • Stolen or illegally held products
  • Moving furniture
  • Container bodies
  • Insufficiently packed goods on pallets
  • Identity cards, passports, driving licenses, property titles
  • Official documents, securities, cash, bank cards, coins, any payment method
  • Products subject to prohibited or clandestine trade as defined in the pick-up or drop-off country

Yes, fragile products are possible but only after a support validation before booking the shipment.

We do need a description of the goods, photos, and all data about the shipment. Please contact Customer Service for such a case.

The claims process for you as a customer remains the same – you can start a claim in the logged-in area of LetMeShip. Go to the “Archive & Tracking”, select the respective shipment and start the claim process right there.
