As with smaller parcels, you can choose between standard or express shipping. While standard shipping is usually cheaper, delivery times may be longer. With express delivery, on the other hand, your large parcel will be given priority during transport and delivered within a few days, depending on the distance to the recipient’s country. For particularly large or bulky items, we recommend to book a freight forwarder.
Which parcel service providers offer large item courier services?
LetMeShip offers access to all major courier, express and parcel service providers such as DHL, UPS and FedEx plus local carriers in all LetMeShip countries. Please check the respective language pages to check for available carriers. To book a freight forwarder, please contact our customer service or select the ‘Special’ tab on the booking platform.
How long does it take sending large parcels internationally?
For parcel shipments, regardless of whether they are large or small, the dimensions, parcel weight and distance to the recipient country are always decisive. When it comes to delivery, we and our shipping partners distinguish between standard delivery times and guaranteed delivery.
What does standard delivery time mean?
Standard delivery times refer to the ‘estimated delivery times’ or ‘transit times’ that a parcel needs to reach its destination. The parcel service providers do not guarantee delivery within this time frame.
What does ‘guaranteed delivery time’ mean?

What are the parcel weight prices?
The shipping costs for large and heavy goods depend on the dimensions, parcel weight and drop-off destination. For large parcels, be aware of the possible difference between the volumetric weight and the actual weight, as carriers always take the higher weight of your shipment into account.

b) Volumetric weight: Calculated by multiplying the length, width and height of the parcel (in centimetres) and dividing this number by a specific factor. Therefore, make sure you never pack your goods in a box that is too large.

The maximum dimensions vary depending on the parcel service provider selected:
DHL Express: The max. dimensions are 119 cm per side, which you should bear in mind if you want to send a large parcel.
FedEx international: The longest side may be 274 cm / The maximum girth* is 330 cm.
FedEx national: The longest side may be 270 cm / The maximum girth* is 400 cm.
TNT international (Standard and Express): 240 cm (L) x 120 cm (W) x 150 cm (H)
TNT national: 302 cm (L) x 203 cm (W) x 178 cm (H)
UPS: The longest side may be 270 cm / The maximum girth* is 400 cm.
DPD: The longest side may be 175 cm / The maximum girth* is 300 cm.
In addition to the max. dimensions, there is also a maximum weight per parcel, which is 68 kg per parcel for FedEx and TNT. Optionally, you can also send the entire shipment on a pallet or as bulky goods.

How can I insure my large parcel?
To protect your large parcel from the risk of damage, basic insurance is already included in the booking. However, the costs and coverage may vary depending on the value of the goods and the parcel service. If you are sending parcels with particularly valuable goods, you should definitely take out additional insurance. Here we offer you the option of adding the LetMeShip Guarantee when booking.
How do I pack my large parcel correctly?
To send fragile items as parcels, we generally recommend using sturdy cardboard boxes. To provide additional protection for the contents of the parcel, fill any empty spaces with bubble wrap or foam. Also make sure that all labels are correct and clearly legible and that any old stickers have been removed. Once you have booked your shipment, you can print out the shipping label yourself and attach it to the parcel. If you book a shipping company through our customer service, the shipping company will bring the shipping label with them when they collect the parcel.
